Hawley Garden Cottages

The Hawley Garden site is the largest of our Almshouse locations and consists of 10 self-contained, purpose-built bungalows in an attractive garden setting.

Each bungalow is centrally heated and features a lounge, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and pantry.

Hawley Garden is also the location of Ratcliffe House which contains an Almshouse flat, the Trust’s office, a communal room and kitchen.

The communal room is available for use by all Hawley Almshouses' residents and their visitors.

The kitchen may be used by residents to make tea, coffee and light refreshments when using the communal room. It also has a washing machine and tumble drier which are available for use by Hawley Garden residents.

Ratcliffe House and the Hawley Garden Cottages were built between 1971 and 1973. In 2010 the Trustees began a programme of refurbishment for the cottages which it is planned will continue over the next few years.
